At Little Chalfont Primary School, we are all very conscious that we need to eat healthily and the school supports many initiatives to help and encourage our pupils, staff and community to be healthy eaters.
Classes have lessons which teach healthy eating at school and at home, and where the pupils can try new and exotic foods. Our classes all have cookery lessons and learn about the sources of their ingredients, how to weigh out ingredients and prepare and mix them, and even about the chemistry that goes on in the creation of their favourite recipes!
Our Reception and KS1 children have the opportunity have a hot school lunch or healthy packed lunch, from school or home, and our older pupils can opt for a hot school lunch or bring in a packed lunch from home. We encourage packed lunches from home to be as healthy as possible. In addition, we encourage pupils to have a healthy snack at break time.
We have water fountains around the school to ensure our pupils stay hydrated during the day.
