At LCPS we take a spiral approach to the maths curriculum. Using the White Rose schemes of learning and premium resources, we develop our understanding of maths in sequenced small steps. Every step builds on the previous and links back to prior learning. Each lesson offers us the opportunity to reason and solve problems alongside our number fluency work to ensure that we fully understand and master each aspect of maths.
While we are limited by lockdown restrictions, here is a perfect way to get out and about with the family. Mike Harwin, the County Outdoor Education Advisor, has given us maths trails to explore around local towns. You can download instructions, questions, extension questions and answer sheets to accompany your walk. Alternatively, you can use the instructions to help you explore the locality. Be sure to tell Mr Morey how you got on with your exploring; it would be great to see your calculations too.
