LCPS PTA is an integral part of the school, raising thousands of pounds each year to spend on equipment and resources to provide enhancements and improve facilities to benefit our children's education and enjoyment during their time at the school.
We work as a forum for communication between the parents and the school, bringing forward your ideas, suggestions and feedback. We strive to build a strong sense of community within the school, looking to achieve this through the many and varied events organised throughout the year.
The PTA Committee
The PTA is made up of sixteen members; four parent officers (chair, vice-chair, treasurer and secretary), nine parent members and three teacher members.
In addition to our AGM, we meet as a team six times a year (twice a term). Held in the evenings, our meetings provide the opportunity to share ideas, plan for future events and fundraising initiatives, discuss spending requirements and to hear about school news. When working on larger events, we also meet in smaller groups, or sub-committees.
If you would like to find out more about joining the PTA, please talk to us or come along to one of our meetings - they're open to everyone to attend! If you would like further information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Registered Charity Status
The Charities Act 1993 requires organisations with an annual income in excess of £1,000 to register with the Charities Commission. We must abide by their rules and regulations and our constitution sets out how we operate as a PTA.
Being a charity allows us to:
- Apply for Gift Aid, earning us an extra 28.2p in every pound we raise
- Raise funds more easily from grant giving trusts and local businesses
- Take advantage of charity matched funding
