Sustainability Project

Sustainability is a huge priority at LCPS and forms an important part of of our School Development Plan.

There are a number of exciting initiatives that we are taking part in all aimed at increasing the children's understanding of how to improve the area they live in and become more sustainable citizens.

Solar Project

On 12th February 2024 we installed 60 solar panels on the pitched roof. Significant work has been undertaken in getting to this stage by the Sustainability Governor. We have a number of generous partners who have helped to fund this excellent initiative. These include

• Heathrow Community Fund
• Amersham and Villages Community Board
• Parents and people from the local community
• DFE energy efficiency funding

Current carbon emissions

LED lighting

Between 2022-23 we have undertaken significant works in replacing the lighting across the school for LED efficient lighting. This has reduced the number of lights within the building but increased the amount of light. We are a very inclusive school that has a number of children and adults with visual impairments and the new lighting has significantly improved their experience at school.
