Firstly, I would like to warmly welcome you to the Little Chalfont Primary School website and introduce myself.
I joined Little Chalfont Primary School in January 2018, having previously worked within schools in the London Boroughs of Brent and Ealing.
I’m delighted to be building on all our school achievements and have high aspirations for our future. Children at Little Chalfont are exposed to a wealth of learning experiences both within and outside the classroom. Our school places a strong emphasis on the development of well-rounded individuals of whom the school and parents can justifiably feel proud. By the end of their time here we want children to be Ready, Respectful and Resilient in their behaviours for learning. We want the children to show Courage, Empathy and Integrity in their approach to curriculum learning. We continually strive for evidence-based teaching and learning strategies to be utilised by all staff: our approach to teaching can be found here. In recognition of our evidence-based approach to teaching we have recently been awarded the Research Mark (from the Chartered College of Teaching).
The current School Development priorities can be found here.
From the moment they arrive in Nursery, our students are expected to achieve in a happy, caring and supportive environment. All students are set challenging and ambitious targets for their academic progress. Expectations are high in relation to attitude, behaviour, safety and uniform. We are committed to building positive relationships with children, parents and carers. These relationships are conducive to learning and reinforce our strong values.
We pride ourselves on having secure community links with parents, carers, other schools and local businesses. It's through these positive relationships and working together that we aim for every child to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum. We value all subjects of the curriculum equally and strive to develop all the children's interests, talents and skills. We are unique in that we employ specialist DT, languages, gardening and music teachers - all children in KS2 will learn four musical instruments by the time they leave in Year 6.
If you would like to arrange a visit to the school, we have regular open days so you can see for yourselves our fantastic school community and our achievements.
Best wishes,
Mr Robert Hacking
